Who We Are

Well the "we" is mostly "me". I am Tim Brennan. Just a local musician from Cleveland who has paid his dues in original, cover, and imaginary bands for a while now. As a band member I acted as manager in a lot of ways. And by "acted", I do not mean Oscar-quality. I made more mistakes than good choices. During this time, though, I did make a lot of contacts and learned some valuable lessons.

Instead of keeping all this information to myself, I decided one day to just give away a lot of my on-paper knowledge to anyone who wants it. This led to the development, evolution, and publishing of this site. Nice guy? Sure. I also rely on friends to pass along valuable info on what's happening in town and around the country. I rely on my wife and daughter to keep me in line and remind me that play time is all the time.

I still love playing music, hearing music, seeing bands and I still believe in the dream of making a living slinging a guitar from city to city. So if anyone uses this site to advance their career to the point that they are as successful as they would hope, send me a copy of your first framed gold record and give me a few backstage passes. In the meantime, contribute to this site with your comments, any additional contacts you may have, or good advice for other bands. But mostly, participate in the Demo Of The Week section and help others get on the right track.

Then again, if you're looking for a great rock bassist or a decent guitarist/singer/songwriter with a band van and home studio, feel free to give me a call.

Good luck everyone,

Tim

Resume:
Heartbeat Productions 1991-present
Owner/operator of small ad agency. In other words, call on us for your TV/Radio/or Print advertising needs!

Transmission 1997-present
Lead vocalist/singer/guitarist for Cleveland all original pop/rock band with two CD releases. First one went #19 CMJ Most Adds in 1997.

World In A Room 1993-1997
Bassist, songwriter for Cleveland all original band with two CD releases. We were sponsored by Budweiser, Fender, Yamaha, Zildjan and GHS strings. Played 80 shows a year in the Midwest with one of the largest fan bases in the area and received several local awards. Of course at the height of our popularity - including a very successful college radio campaign that spawned calls from record labels - we broke up.

Various bands until 1993
Living in Southern Ohio and Michigan I got to play in a lot of bands including some time hanging around Afghan Whigs, Royal Crescent Mob, Loudhouse (became Sponge) and even got an offer to work at Sup Pop in pre Nirvana 1991. So, if I ever say your band is not going to make it, that does not guarantee you will be huge, but it can't hurt.
