Title: where has this been all my life?
What I Think: This band is fantastic, and their latest release is better than most songs on the
charts. Its rockin' and funny, but without being too corny. What a great song!
Extra Credit Items: The beat, vocals, and lyrics.

Title: Fun, Singable, Bluesy, Original
What I Think: Along the blues vein that Lawn man is, this is a great track guys and I would love to
hear more.
Extra Credit Items: The beignning, the stops and starts, well placed silent pauses can really
puncuate a song. This is damn fine songwriting kids!

Title: Cool Spy v. Spy
What I Think: A pretty cool song - laid back approach and solid production. Call me daft, but I don't quite get the
"Baby Fat" lyric. It's not really tongue in cheek, and it doesn't really poke fun at anything; however, it's not a
laudatory anthem to Baby Fat either, so I'm a little confused.
Extra Credit Items: Again, the production is really good - cool guitar sounds, laid back delivery.

Title: catchy, nice groove, somewhat mysterious
What I Think: nice texture! very interesting tune that I found myself moving to....easy song to get in the groove with.
On the down side it sounds like these guys have been listening to a lot of Cake. Great band but a very unique style
where another band with a similar sound could appear as rip-offs. All in all, I really enjoyed the song and would like
to hear it more.
Extra Credit Items: the groove, the texture, very cool guitar work

Title: Laid back and groovy like
What I Think: I usually go for the harder stuff, but I have to admit I really like this track. Has a unique melodic vibe to it. The lyrics are funny, but the David Lynchian inspired music keeps the track from being a Weird Al Yankovic parody. I will be Shaking my baby fat all day after hearing this one.
Extra Credit Items: Sounds super professional. Must of spent some time on the mix and production end. The lyrics are a breath of fresh air. I am getting tired of songs where I can guess the next line without ever hearing the track. Guitar, bass, and drums click like a demented lounge act.

Title: What is this stuff?
What I Think: My first response was: is this a serious song or are they making FUN of rap? I'm still not sure. The riff reminded me of REM, but the overall song...well, didn't really go anywhere.
I don't like giving bad reviews, but in this case, I'm not really sure what the band's trying to do? I like songs that have a direction--I realize that rap music doesn't have this, most of the time, relying only on the vocal riff or rythm hook for effect. That's why I've never been a fan of that styule of music.
If there had been more of a guitar solo in the middle or a sample of some sort or something tobreak up the plodding nbeat, then that would be OK.
Then again, who am I to say anything?
Extra Credit Items: I liked the overall riff, the guitar invited me into the rest of the song. I just felt like I was lead there under false pretenses.

Title: Pee Wee Herman porno film track
What I Think: I can't say I have ever heard anything like it. Reminds me of the soundtrack music to the Pee Wee Herman show, but its mutated into some weird sexual innuendo. It makes me giggle, groove, and I think it is great. I only hope Shaking your baby fat is referring to dancing, and not real baby shaking.
Extra Credit Items: The originality of it. The drum and bass are simple and tight. The lyrics funny and fresh. The guitar work is great. The whole recording sounds professional.

Title: Django Reinhart eat your heart out
What I Think: If the Django man is up there listening, he'd be pleased with this amusing song that brings his guitar style up to date. The lead has the kind of voice to make the humor more feasable, in the way of TMBG. If these guys are as good live as they are on this one song, they have something good going. Shake your baby fat actually made me laugh out loud, which says alot for the lyrics. Definately worth anyone's time.
Extra Credit Items: The blend of old with the new. Keep it up and you've got yourself a fan for life.

Title: brilliantly moving boogy music
What I Think: Buckra continues to be progressive with their sound on this new single. This song is funny and reminds me of summertime. It also makes me laugh. The hook is there and the guitar is very ambiant. What really drives this song is the beat with the vocals. You'll find yourself nodding along easily with this tune.
Extra Credit Items: Bring in a real drummer and take out a few shake your baby fat's. Emphasize the bass groove and Deepin the sound a little more. I like where the vocals sit in the mix and the guitar helps to enhance the melody. Well done guys.

Title: something most definitely new and derivative
What I Think: in a word, sounds like a cross between two of ny favorite bands.. 3rd bass and space..
i am beginning to really like the fact that i can come to this site to review bands that are actually good.
in a world where everyone seems to be brainwashed by wussified rap core, it's nice to know that someone else's record collection probably looked alot like mine.

i would sure like to review the whole album, hint hint..
Extra Credit Items: good variation on a theme. they took sounds that already existed them, and brought them into their own realm. lots of definite influences, no definite copies.. rocks..

Title: My baby fat is hereby shaking as requested
What I Think: Great mixing of meters on the vocal part. Melodic & rappy. The sample elements (unless they're live) were nice but could have used a tad bit more variety. Great guitar sounds - tremelo rocks (sounds like an old silvertone case?). I bet this is a blast live. Production is wonderful; very in-your-face and crisp, without being over produced.
Extra Credit Items: Guitar, mix, melody

Title: Shaken not stirred with a twist of Dirty
What I Think: Shake your Baby Fat is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head. It's also one of those songs that is funny enough to make you crash your car if you're not careful when you listen to it. The slow guitar slides and the devilishly funny lyrics make for a good song that will stay in your cars heavy rotation.
Extra Credit Items: One line in particular that sets the mood for the rest of the CD (which is really really good too) "A shot of gin wit' my similac..."

Title: I dig it...
What I Think: it's not my favorite of their new stuff (panties is my overall fave out of the new stuff), but it's definitely a good indicator of things to come for my dear buckra boys. Each live show, they get better and better and the same can be said for each recording. They just get tighter and tighter, and for us who watch them--that's a good thing [:)]
Extra Credit Items: I always dig Jacob's playing, he's by far one of the best guitarists in the 'nati. Dylan brings so much friggin' energy to each song and it's contagious for the rest of the band and the listener. And I shall never forget the rock solid rhythm section [;-)]

Title: trippy
What I Think: It's hard to get used to the stale hip hop beat since I dig Chris' drumming so much, but it's amusing and listenable. It smokes live, I'm sure.
Extra Credit Items: Classic Speeg humor.
